Abstract
In today’s modern era, technological advances can be seen in many places including the discovery of technology contained in the mall parking lot or other crowded centers. The sophistication is evident from computer users connected to the camera used to recognize every license plate of the vehicle entering the parking area automatically whitout the need for human intervention to manually record one by one again. This study aims to detect the position of the numer plate using realtime image processing, and to identify the license plate using the backpropagation artificial neural network in realtime. Testing from the data that has been taken shows 100% accuracy level for plate detection process and 89.74% for identification process from 10 plate number which consist of 76 characters in total.
