Abstract

Background: The population of South Sumatera in 2010 was 7,45 million people, so that it was became a problem for Indonesia because it was not appropriate with economy development. One of effort to decrease the number ofbirth with family planning program was family planning pill contraception. The purpose of research was to know prevalens and analyze the factor that related to using of family planning pill contraception for acceptors in Primary Health Center Alang-alang Lebar Palembang in 2010. Methods : This cross sectional study has been done in Alang-alang Lebar Primary Health Center since August untill November. The population of this research was all reproductive age women in Primary Health Center Alang-alang Lebar Palembang in 2010. This research has 564 sample. Statistic analyze has been done using spss 18 with univariate analysis, bivariate analysis and multivariate analysis. Result: Prevalens rate of family planning pill contraception (oral contraception) was 30.1% and biaviate analysis were three variables that had assosiation significantly affect with family planning pill contraception (there were assosiation that significant), that is age (OR=l,974 ; p=0.001), the number of children (0R=1,847 ; p=0.001) and occupation (OR=2,341 ; p=0.000). Final multiple logistic regression analysis showed that occupation (OR=2,349 ; p=0,000), the number of children(OR=1,699 ; p=0,011), age(OR=l,483 ; p=0,066),and dominant factor was occupation. Conclusion: Prevalens rate of oral contraseptive is 30.1% as many as 170 people. Bivariate analysis sociodemographic factor such as age, the number of children and occupation had assosiation significantly affect with oral contraseption. Multivariate analysis of factor affecting are occupation and the number of children, while the age factor become meaningless.
