Abstract
Background: TB is a major global health problem^ approximately one third of the world populalion is infected by M tuberculosis. Indonesia is the fourth country with the highest prevalence of tuberculosis after China, Madagascar, and India. At the same time, South Sumatera has been the seventh highest TB prevalence in Indonesia. Nowadays there are a lot of progress in TB management, but TB remains a global problem that is exacerbated by drugs resistance. Objcctive: This study aimed to determine resistance prevalence of M. tuberculosis against first line antituberculosis drugs and its progression pattem from 2010-2012 in South Sumatera. Method: This study used secondary data from BBLK Palembang from January 2010 to December 2012. There were 109 samples that fulfilled inclusion eriteria. All cases were analysed by simple linear regression method using SPSS version 21.0. Results: Prevalence of first line drugs resistance to M. tuberculosis in South Sumatera is 56,90%. And its pattem were 45,30% monoresistance, 43,50% polyresistance, and 11,20% MDR. There were increased prevalence resistance in South Sumatera, 52,50% in 2010, 58,69% in 2011 and 60,87% in 2012. Conciusion: Antituberculosis drugs resistance prevalence in South Sumatera from 2010-2012 slightly increase.
