Abstract

Liquid isolation is one of the materials that is very useful for protecting both human and electrical components such as transformer from the danger of electricity. One of the liquid isolation is created from palm oil (RBDPO) that still need to be added titanium dioxide (TiO2). Before it become liquid isolation, it need to be tested, one of them is partial discharge testing. PD testing, in this case we are using a simulation, is carried out by using software Simulink Matlab and capacitance modeling. We want to see the effect of addition in RBDPO and compare it with the manual calculation of PD. We found that with the addition of TiO2 in RBDPO, it can increase the voltage of partial discharge in RBPDO because the permittivity also increase but there is difference between the result of simulation Simulink Matlab and manual calculation of PD. This is caused of the difference of variable that's used in simulation and manual calculation.
