Abstract

Introduction: Enterobacteriaceae is a familly of Gram-negative bacteria which is one of pathogen microorganisms that commonly cause diseases in human being. Various types of antibiotic are used to treat Enterobacteriaceae infections, however unproper use of them will initiate antibiotic resistance. The selection of antibiotic for Enterobactericeae infection therapy really depends on empirical data of antibiotics sensitivity in each region. Thus, the study to see antibotics sensitivity pattem of Enterobacteriaceae needs to be done. Method: This study is an observasional descriptive research that use secondary data of antibiotic sensitivity test in 2012 from Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Mohammad Hoesin Hospital/Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University Results: This study obtained 2299 Enterobactericeae isolate from various specimens and consisted of fourteen different species. The most common isolate are Klebsiella pneumonia (40,3%) and Escherichia coli (34,6%). Based on antibiotic sensitiviy test results, antibiotic with the highest and most stable sensitivity is imipenem (94,2%) and antibiotics with the highest resistancy rate is kotrimoksazol (69,6%). Conclusion: Antibiotic that has the highest sensitivity to this 2299 bacterial family isolate is imipenem (94,2%) and antibiotic that has the worst sensitivity to this bacterial familly is kotrimokasazol (29.1%).
