Abstract

This research aims to study the effect of a N,P,K nutrition on Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc. Var. Rubrum) in a polyculture system with rubber plants (16 year old). This research was conducted at the rubber research (-3,2325969, 104,6372518), Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This research was conducted from November 2021 to May 2022. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD), which consisted of 6 treatments with 4 blocks. Nutrition N was source from Urea fertilizer, nutrition P (TSP fertilizer), and nutrition K (KCl fertilizer). Treatments was N, P, and K Nutrition, namely, No Fertilizer (T0); Urea (5 g/tan-1) + TSP (2,5 g/tan-1) + KCl (2,5 g/tan-1) (T1); Urea (10 g/tan-1) + TSP (5 g/tan-1) + KCl (5 g/tan-1) (T2); Urea (15 g/tan-1) + TSP (7,5 g/tan-1) + KCl (7,5 g/tan-1) (T3); Urea (20 g/tan-1) + TSP (10 g/tan-1) + KCl (10 g/tan-1) (T4); Urea (25 g/tan-1) + TSP (12,5 g/tan-1) + KCl (12,5 g/tan-1) (T5). For responsed of rubber namely; row was flowed and cultivation with Zingiber (G1); row was flowed and not cultivation with Zingiber (G2); row not flowed and not cultivation with Zingiber (G3). The results of analysis of variance (Anova) showed that a N, P, and K nutrition for Zingiber had a very significant effect on plant height, leaf length, stem diameter, number of leaves, number of tillers, and wet weight of rhizomes. Urea (25 g/tan-1) + TSP (12,5 g/tan-1) + KCl (12,5 g/tan-1) (T5) fertilizers showed good yields of red ginger plants with an average wet weight of rhizomes 41,25 g/clump. In general, soil pH condition in row of rubber between 4,13 until 4,44. Light intensity condition in row of rubber between 12.488 until 26.088 (lux/month). Cultivation of Zingiber officinale Var. Rubrum with a polyculture system for rubber plants was able to increase the fresh weight of latex and rubber stem circumference.
