Abstract

This study is motivated by the character of the students at the Daarul Huffazh Tahfidz Al-Qur'an House which still does not reflect good morals. The character and education developing process at the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an House which is run by the teachers or coaches is one of the objects of study, because it looks at the condition of the character of the students in this Daarul Huffadz Tahfidz Al- Qur'an House. Education related to character developing is not the main learning that is in line with the mission of the foundations. This study aims to determine the role of Daarul Huffazh Al-Qur'an House in constructing the character of students, and also the supporting and inhibiting factors in developing the character of students. This study uses descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection techniques used in this study were observations, interviews and documentations. The results of this study are that the role played by Daarul Huffazh Al-Qur'an House in constructing the character of the students is still in the stage of advising and motivating students to be able to process better, there are no theoretical learning and students who do not reflect a bad attitude at school are still there, living in community environment. Students will also be penalized if they do not comply with the applicable rules. With this study, it is hoped that the Daarul Huffazh Al-Qur'an House can develop its role, including supervising, controlling and guiding the students and can improve the learning system, especially character education for students.
