Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe social criticism in the anthology of short stories Mata Yang Enak Dipandang by Ahmad Tohari and its implications for learning Indonesian. The research method used in this research is qualitative. The data used in this study are quotations relating to social criticism in the anthology of the short story Mata Yang Enak Dipandang. The technique used in this research is content analysis technique. The results of this study, namely two data on social criticism of the problem of poverty, one data on social criticism of the problem of crime, three data on social criticism of the problem of family disorganization, one data on social criticism of the problem of the younger generation in modern society, two data on social criticism of the problem of crime. societal norms. The implications for learning Indonesian, students can understand information and find the values of life in short stories. The social critique contained in the anthology of the short story Mata Yang Enak Dipandang by Ahmad Tohari can understand social problems that occur in the community.
