Abstract

This study aims to find out how virtual communication through video conferencing (zoom) applications in online thesis proposal seminars at Sriwijaya University. This study uses a qualitative method. The data used in this study were sourced from students and lecturers of the Department of Communication Sciences with data collection techniques of in-depth interviews, obsertion, and documentation studies. There were three informants in this study consisting of two students and one lecturer. To test the validity of the data, the authors used triangulation techniques. In analyzing the data, this research uses data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study stated that virtual communication through video conferencing applications using zoom in online thesis proposal seminars at Sriwijaya University was carried out well.
