Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of employability towards job insecurity among layoff survivors on The Covid-19 pandemic era. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a role of employability on job insecurity in layoff survivor. Respondents in this study were 205 survivors in companies that conducted mass layoff during the Covid-19 pandemic era. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used is the employability scale which refers to dimensions of Lo Presti and Pluviano(2016) and the job insecurity scale which refers to the components of Ashford, Lee and Bobko(1989). Data analysis in this study used simple regression technique. The results of the regression analysis showed that the R square value between employability and job insecurity was 0.109, the F value was 24,907 and the significance value was 0.000 (p <0.005). This shows that employability has a significant role in job insecurity, thus the hypothesis proposed in this study can be accepted.
