Abstract

Bats (Chiroptera) are the only type of mammals that can fly. Bats have high mobility in foraging activities such as flowers, fruit, nectar, and insects at night. The Isau-Isau Wildlife Reserve (WR) Sumur Tinggi Area has a function as a protection area. Information about bats in Isau-Isau WR is not available until now. This study aims to determine and identify the types of bats in the Isau-Isau WR Sumur Tinggi Area. The determination of the location of the study used the Purposive sampling method. The sampling location is determined based on the type of habitat that exists, such as Primary Forest, Coffee Plantation and Rubber Tree Plantation and to retrieve bats data, Mist Net was used with a size of 14x3 meters. The bats obtained will be identified using an identification key that refers to some reference to the bat species. The results of bat research obtained during the observation were 23 individuals The conclusion of this study was that as many as 3 species of bats were obtained in the Isau-Isau WR Sumur Tinggi Area, such as: Chironax melanocephalus, Cynopterus brachyotis and Cynopterus sphinx.
