Abstract

Tuberkulosis merupakan masalah global yang masih menjadi penyebab utama kematian di dunia. TB pada anak merupakan permasalahan kesehatan karena kesulitan mendiagnosis TB pada anak. Metode kultur masih menjadi gold standard dari diagnosis TB pada anak. GeneXpert mempunyai sensitivitas dan spesifisitas yang hampir sama dengan kultur dalam mendeteksi TB dari spesimen sputum ataupun non sputum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran keunggulan metode GeneXpet MTB/RIF dengan spesimen sputum dan non-sputum dalam mendiagnosis Mycobacterium tuberculosis pada anak di RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Penelitian deskriptif dari rekam medik Laboratorium Sentral RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Terdapat 98 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Dari 98 sampel, terdapat 40 spesimen sputum dan 58 spesimen non-sputum. Karakteristik pasien anak suspek TB terbanyak pada laki-laki (53,1%) dan usia ≥5 tahun. GeneXpert MTB/RIF pada spesimen sputum mempunyai sensitivitas 75% dan spesifisitas 97,22. Sedangkan pada spesimen non-sputum mempunyai sensitivitas 100% dan spesifisitas 96,43%. GeneXpert MTB/RIF mempunyai sensitivitas dan spesifisitas yang cukup baik untuk diagnosis awal tuberkulosis pada anak.
