Abstract

Background: Menstruation is the discharge of blood and mucous tissue through the vagina which comes from the uterus periodically every month with a span of 24-35 days. Menstruation can be affected by stress and intense physical activity. The burden of working on the final assignment coupled with learning that has started to be done face to face makes students have to adjust to their daily habits. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is a relationship between physical activity and stress levels in final year students of Sriwijaya University Medical Education class of 2019. Method: This study used an observational research type, namely correlation analysis with a cross sectional. Data was collected in October 2022 and obtained 124 student data and then analyzed using the SPSS program and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: From the analysis of the relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle, the result is p = 0.009 / p <α (0.05), which means that there is a relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle, while for physical activity, the value is p = 0.784 / p> α (0 .05) which means there is no relationship between physical activity and the menstrual cycle. Conclusion: There is a relationship between stress levels and the menstrual cycle, and there is no relationship between physical activity and the menstrual cycle.
