Abstract

Green lettuce is one type of vegetable that contains high enough nutrients for the human body, therefore it is necessary to increase the production of lettuce in Indonesia. This research was carried out with the aim of providing information regarding the appropriate administration of various doses of compost tea and lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) to increase the growth and yield of green lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) Grands Rapids variety. This study was compiled using a Randomized Complitely Block Design (RCBD) using lotus compost and compost tea as the treatment, obtained 6 treatments, namely: P0 (control), P1 (solid compost), P2 (compost tea, compost and water ratio 1:5 (w/v) watered into the soil), P3 (compost tea with a ratio of 1:10 (w/v) water to the soil), P4 (compost tea with a ratio of 1:5 (w/v) water given by drip irrigation), P5 (compost tea, compost and water ratio 1:10 (w/v) given by drip irrigation). Each treatment was repeated 4 times and got 24 treatment units, each treatment unit contained 2 plants, so the total number of plants was 48 plants. The results showed that the application of compost tea could affect the growth and yield of lettuce plants. This is related because the best treatment in this study was found in the P3 treatment with aerated compost tea, the ratio of compost and water 1:10 (w/v) poured into the soil.
