Abstract

Introduction: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis with children making up 10-11% of all TB cases worldwide. However, not everyone who contracts M. tuberculosis will go on to develop active TB, therefore this infection is referred to as Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) and has to be intervened with Tuberculosis Prevention Treatment (TPT). Currently, there hasn't been any recent research on the execution of the TPT administration in Palembang. This study was conducted to determine the incidence of TPT among children in Palembang Public Health Center. Method: This research used a descriptive observational methodology with a cross-sectional study design. The data gathered is in the form of secondary data including TBC.15 Fasyankes and TBC.16K Fasyankes form recapitulation in Palembang from January 2020 to December 2021. The data were collected from the Palembang City Health Office's TB Program Management division and were processed descriptively. Result: Of the 943 household contact children, only 16.9% of them were given TPT with the most characteristics being the age group <5 years (94.3%), male (55.3%), lived in Palembang (97, 5%), did not undergo TST (83%), were given 6H treatment (93.7%) and had completed the TPT (47.8%). TPT administration in Palembang Public Health Center only met 17.5% of the national coverage target in 2020 and 7% of the target in 2021 Conclusion: Incidence of TPT administration among children in Palembang Public Health Center is considered low and did not meet the national targets for 2020 and 2021 that have been set.
