Abstract

The perception of stress comes from the gap between the resources owned by an individual and the demands made. The greater the imbalance between the two aspects, the higher the level of stress an individual will feel. Feelings of stress that arise due to demands that exceed academic abilities are perceptions of academic stress. A situation that is considered stressful by one individual may not be stressful for another individual, therefore academic stress is subjective and is influenced by two factors, namely internal and external. Hardiness is a personality that can help someone manage stress by applying psychological resilience. Meanwhile, self-efficacy is an individual's belief about his ability and competence in carrying out a task to achieve goals and get results in accordance with the effort given. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and hardiness personality with perceptions of academic stress in students of the Medical Faculty of the Sriwijaya University Medical Education Study Program Batch 2019. The type of research used is correlational analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were all 217 students of the Medical Faculty of the Sriwijaya University Medical Education Study Program, a total of 217 people.
