Abstract

Good hauling roads are a very influential factor in the smooth running of coal hauling activities and the process of achieving the hauling productivity targets set by the company. PT. Duta Bara Utama is a coal mining company that has various means of transportation in its mining process. Based on this, technical studies can be carried out regarding actual and theoretical calculations of total resistance in the overburden transport process as well as comparisons of actual total resistance calculations before repairs are carried out and theoretically after improvements are made to productivity in the process of transporting overburden from pit to disposal. Cycle time data is collected for productivity calculations, calculating the minimum haul road width, division of straight road segments and bends, cross slope, and depth of tire penetration. The productivity of the conveyance before repairs to the total resistance value was 30.34 Bcm/hour/unit with a cycle time of 9.49 minutes. The productivity of the conveyance after repairs to the total resistance value is 46.63 Bcm/unit with a cycle time of 7.567 minutes. The effect of the total resistance of the conveyance on the productivity of the means of conveyance is that the smaller the value of the total resistance, the shorter the circulation time so that the productivity of the means of transportation increases. It is necessary to maintain road geometry on a regular basis to increase the productivity of the transportation equipment so that the transportation equipment can work optimally thereby reducing cycle time and increasing production.
