Abstract
Background: Indonesia as a crowded country has an ejfort to control civil s growth which is ‘Keluarga Berencana ” Seberang Ulu I has most number of active aceptor KB (29.878) in 2010. However details about the percentage of the kind of contraceptive is unknown. In palembang City health profile 2009, the user of oral contraceptive in seberang Ulu I had 53% (3769) from 7151. The 400% increasing is one of the reasons Seberang Ulu I become the place where this study held. Method: Cross sectional study has been done at Puskesmas Pembina in October 2011. The sample is reproductive-age females who came to Puskesmas Pembina in 1 Juny -31 December 2010 and met inclusive criteria (15-49 years old). The data was taken from medical records (secondary data) of the females. The data was analyzed with univariate analysis, which is the frequency distribution of the respondents, bivariate analysis, which is the Chi-Square test, and multivariate analysis which is the binary logistic regression by using SPSS 18 programme. Result: Total of the respondents are 1329 females. Prevalence of OCP usage is 9,6%, OCP is the second most contraception choosen by the females. From bivariate analysis, there are 3 variables influencing the use of OCP: number ofliving children (p=0,000) and health insurance (p=0,002). From multivariate analysis, the dominant factor is number of living children (p=0,000; OR=3,085; 95%CI=2,047-4,648). Conclusion: Prevalence of OCP user is high among the females, which signify that the promotion effort of the more effective and permanent methods (long term methods) is needed, especially for the pill acceptor who is more than 35 years old and has enough children (1-2 person).
