Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara stres dengan empati pada perokok di tempat umum di wilayah kota Palembang. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan yang signifikan antara stres dengan empati pada perokok di tempat umum di wilayah kota Palembang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh perokok di tempat umum di wilayah kota Palembang yang berjumlah 150 orang. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan wawancara, skala empati dan skala stres. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan pearson product moment. Hasil analisis data penelitian dengan teknik pearson product moment menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara stres dengan empati pada perokok di tempat umum di wilayah kota Palembang dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0.757 dan p = 0.000 (p<0.05) Artinya perokok di tempat yang memiliki stres yang rendah, memiliki empati yang tinggi. umum Kata Kunci: Stres, Empati, Merokok
