Abstract

Stress urinary incontinence is a involuntary loss of urine during activity, sneezing or coughing. SUI is the most common type of incontinence during pregnancy and is highest in the third trimester. SUI can be prevented by knowing the incidence and risk factors of SUI in pregnant women such as age, BMI before pregnancy, gestational age, number of parities, method of delivery, and smoking history. This study aims to determine the incidence and analyze the relationship between risk factors and the incidence of SUI in pregnant women at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design using primary data in the form of interviews and filling out the QUID questionnaire (Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis). The sample of this research is pregnant women in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study involved 70 respondents. The incidence of SUI in pregnant women at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang is 34.3%. There is a significant association between risk factors for age, BMI before pregnancy, gestational age, and mode of delivery with the incidence of SUI in pregnant women and an insignificant relationship between parity and SUI in pregnant women. The incidence of SUI in pregnant women is 34.3% and risk factors such as age, BMI before pregnancy, gestational age, and method of delivery with are significant with the incidence of SUI in pregnant women.
