Abstract

Each household has a different consumption pattern. Food consumption patterns are consumption habits that differ from one community to another. This pattern of food consumption can show food diversification of the community which can then be observed from the parameters of the Expected Food Pattern (PPH). The purpose of this study ware to (1) analyze household food consumption patterns in the city of Palembang using energy consumption calculations based on the PPH reference (Expected Food Pattern) (2) measure the score of the Expected Food Pattern (PPH) of households in different income groups against the ideal score in Palembang City for different income household (3) analyze the factors that influence household food consumption patterns in Palembang City using Multiple Linear Regression analysis and Dummy Variables. The research method used was a survey method by interviewing every housewife in each household income group with the help of a questionnaire. The data collection in this study was carried out in July 2022. The results showed that in the city of Palembang it still did not show food diversity, it can be seen PPH score are the medium income group is 82.2, from the high income group is 70.4, meanwhile, the low income group is 61.2. The average PPH score in Palembang City only met 71.3% of the 100% ideal status. The factors that have a significant effect on household food consumption patterns are the amount of expenditure per month, and income. While the factors that do not affect the pattern of household food consumption are age, education of housewives, and number of family members.
