Abstract

Ogan Ilir Regency has a cultural heritage of expertise in wood, metal and woven crafts. These activities need to be facilitated with a conservation and development center as a medium for promotion, training and commercial. Inside it accommodates the functions of galleries, workshops, performances and training. The site design elevates the characteristics of the natural landscape in the form of a swamp with its endemic plants. The Cultural Center adopts local traditional buildings in the form of stilt architecture on swampland with modified concrete structures. Local decoration is appointed as a decorative element of the building on the secondary skin. On the site there is also a swamp area that is used for retention ponds. Building functions are grouped in separate buildings. The main function is placed on the main building with other buildings around it which are connected by a bridge. The space under the building, like the architecture of a stilt house, is used as a parking area. The roof of the local pyramid house that can be used as a performance space. The roof is decorated with simbar and horns. Separation of buildings also aims to flow natural air into and out of the building.
