Abstract
Oryctes rhinoceros is one of the main pest of oil palm in Indonesia, especially on the immature plants. O. rhinoceros beetle are infesting the growing point and causing hampered growth of the plants and causing death to the host plants. The objectives of this research were to determine the effect usage of various kinds of liquid waste on B. thuringiensis growth and O. rhinoceros larval mortality effect on that bioinsecticide. The study was arranged using completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments with media used i.e. rice washing water, old coconut water, cows biourine, and rabbits biourine. B. thuringiensis isolates were obtained from Laboratory of Phytopathology, Department of Plant Pest and Disease, Sriwijaya University. Spore density on rice washing water + rabbit biourine treatment were the highest (11.69 x 1013 spores/ml) and lowest spore density on old coconut water + cow biourine (7.33 1013 spores/ml). The larva infected by B. thuringiensis would show symptoms of reduced larva activity starting from moving activity and eating activity, then the larval body would shrinked and finally larval will died. The highest mortality was found on rice washing water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 91.67%, while the lowest mortality was on old coconut water + cow biourine treatment that is 58.33%. The average body length showed highest was on old coconut water + cow biourine that is 6.60 cm and average lowest body length was on old coconut water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 4.69 cm. The highest body weight was on old coconut water + cow biourine treatment that is 5.63 g and the lowest was on old coconut water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 4.14 g. The highest larval excrement weight was on old coconut water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 1.33 g and the lowest was on rice washing water + rabbit biourine that is 0.83 g. The highest LT50 value was on old coconut water + rabbit biourine that is 41.41days and the lowest was on rice washing water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 29,51 days, highest LT95 value was on old coconut water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 77,19 days and the lowes was on rice washing water + rabbit biourine treatment that is 65.30 days.
