Abstract

Burnout syndrome is a response in the form of emotional, physical and motivational exhaustion caused by chronic stress or prolonged frustration related to work, which is characterized by three main criteria: Emotional Exhaustion (EE: includes feelings of weakness, fatigue and lack of energy), Depersonalization/Depersonalization (DP: feelings of increasing distance between work and patients), and lack of satisfaction with one's own accomplishments (PA: feelings of ineffectiveness). Burnout syndrome is common in someone who works in community service. Specialist education programs are often a stress trigger for a resident. The motivation for burnout syndrome in Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy residency is high working hours which are not balanced with short rest time. At the same time, the participants are required to be able to increase their own knowledge and abilities.
