Abstract
Cutaneous lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease that mainly attacks the skin and mucosal tissue. Manifestations of cutaneous lupus erythematosus are very diverse, including the shape and location of lupus lesion. This study is aimed to increase prevention and awareness of cutaneous lupus erythematosus by analyzing prevalence and characteristics of cutaneous lupus erythematosus in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. This is an observational descriptive study using 26 samples of patients diagnosed with cutaneous lupus erythematosus in the period of 2019-2021. Data were obtained from medical records of patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling method. Prevalence of cutaneous lupus erythematosus at RSMH Palembang is 0,38% with 26 patients. Sociodemographic characteristics of cutaneous lupus erythematosus were found to be highest in the group of female sex (88.5%), aged 15-45 years (80.8%), housewife occupation (65.4%). The most common type of lupus is chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus (50%), the lesion localization mostly on the head (100%). The most common ACR criteria was malar rash (100%) with positive ANA laboratory results (57.1%) and positive anti-dsDNA (61.9%). Most used topical treatment is sunscreen SPF> 30 (61.5%). There was 26 patients diagnosed with CLE with 0,38% prevalence, with characteristics is mostly women, aged 15-45 years, and housewife occupation. Most common type of lupus is chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus, lesion seen mostly on face. ACR criteria mostly found malar rash with positive ANA and anti-dsDNA test results. Most used topical treatment is sunscreen with an SPF> 30.
