Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan dukungan sosial terhadap stres pada mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya yang menyusun skripsi. Hipotesis mayor penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan dukungan sosial terhadap stres pada mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya yang menyusun skripsi. Hipotesis minor dalam penelitian ini yaitu : (1) ada hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap stres pada mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya yang menyusun skripsi, (2) ada hubungan antara dukungan sosial terhadap stres pada mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya yang menyusun skripsi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya angkatan 2013 yang sedang menyusun skripsi sebanyak 323 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik insidental. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala stres, skala kecerdasan emosional dan skala dukungan sosial. Analisis data menggunakan analisis uji korelasi ganda dan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil uji hipotesis mayor menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan dukungan sosial terhadap stres dengan hasil R = 0,432, F = 36,775 dan sig = 0,000 (p<0.005). Hasil hipotesis minor pertama terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan stres dengan hasil R = - 0,204, F = 13,995 dan sig = 0,000 (p<0.005) dan hasil hipotesis kedua terdapat hubungan signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan stres dengan hasil R = -0,402, F = 61,981 dan Sig = 0,00 (p<0.005). Dengan demikian seluruh hipotesis pada penelitian ini dapat diterima. Kata Kunci: Stres, Kecerdasan Emosional, Dukungan Sosial
