Abstract

Penggunaan methotrexate sebagai agen kemoterapi pada penderita leukemia ternyata menimbulkan efek stomatotoksisitas terhadap rongga mulut. Dimana agen-agen sitotoksik menyebabkan timbulnya stomatitis aftosa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan penggunaan methotrexate sebagai obat kemoterapi dengan timbulnya stomatitis aftosa pada pasien leukemia. Penelitian cross sectional telah dilaksanakan di Bagian Rekam Medis RSMH Palembang pada tanggal 18 Januari-27 Januari 2013. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 86 sampel yang diperoleh dari buku catatan rekam medis dan kartu rekam medis pasien leukemia yang dirawat di Bangsal Rawat Inap Bagian Hematologi (Penyakit Dalam dan Ilmu Kesehatan Anak) RSMH Palembang. Dari penelitian ini, didapatkan hasil bahwa frekuensi timbulnya stomatitis aftosa pada sampel yang menggunakan methotrexate adalah 23,25% (p<0,05). Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan methotrexate sebagai obat kemoterapi pada pasien leukemia dengan timbulnya stomatitis aftosa.
