Abstract

Lime (Citrus aurantiifolia) is a plantation crop that is widely produced in Indonesia. This plant comes from the Rutace family. Lime are used as a cooking spice, medicine and others. There are several obstacles found in cultivating lime plants including the existence of pests and diseases. Pests that usually attack lime plants are Planococcus citri, Sanurus sp, Lawana candida, Papilio demoleus, Placophyllopus colthurnatus, Dacus sp. and Diaphorina citri. This study aims to determine the arthropod species associated with lime plants in Palem Raya Village, Indralaya Utara District, Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatra. This research was conducted from October to November 2022. This research was conducted using a survey and direct observation through interviews with farmers regarding data on lime plantations. Using a purposive sampling technique (intentional sampling) in lime plantations by taking 5% of the plant population. 21 plant samples were taken for soil arthropods by using a pitfall trap. For visual techniques (direct observation) it is done by looking at the symptoms of pest attack on lime plants. Then the insects obtained are then put into zip plastic and vials that have been treated with alcohol to be identified and documented. The results showed that visually there were 27 species of arthropods. The number of individuals found during the study there were 635 individuals. Hemiptera is the dominant insect found in lime plants. Hemiptera acts as a pest. There are 23 species of soil arthropods that are found. The number of individuals found during the study was 3257 individuals. Araneae and Collembola were the dominant arthropods found in the soil of lime plantations in Palem Raya Village. Araneae acts as a predator and Collembola acts as a decomposer of organic matter from the remains of lime plants. The index value of the diversity of arthropods in the air by direct observation is 1.95 and is classified as moderate. This is because the arthropod species are stable and still evenly distributed. The diversity index of arthropods in the soil with pitfall traps is 1.06 which is moderate. The evenness index value for arthropods in the air is 0.59. The evenness index for arthropods in the soil is 0.34. The dominance index by direct observation for arthropods in the air is 0,40. The dominance index with pitfall traps for arthropods in the soil is 0,80.
