Abstract

FACULTY OF PUBLIC HEALTH SRIWIJAYA UNIVERSITY Scientific writing in the form of Thesis, 01 November 2022 Syafrianto; Supervised by Hamzah Hasyim and Haerawati Analysis of Covid-19 Vaccination Acceptance Using the Health Belief Model Approach Method in Batang Harin Regency in 2022 vii + 87 pages, 2 pictures, 3 tables, 3 appendices ABSTRACT The low percentage of vaccine receipts in the Batanghari Regency community cannot be separated from the existence of influencing factors, one of which can be caused by the perception of the community itself. Individual perceptions in choosing to do something related to their health are studied in the Health Belief Model (HBM) theory. The purpose of this study was to conduct a study in the form of an analysis using the Health Belief Model approach to the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination in Batang Hari Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research design with the Health Belief Model approach method through interviews and documentation. This research is qualitative in nature with data collection methods through interviews and FGDs on 3 health centers, namely Muara Bulian Health Center, Pasar Terusan Health Center, and Batin Health Center. Milles Hubermen method is used in data processing. The results showed that the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine in Batanghari Regency, which was measured using the Health Belief Model theory approach, believed that the COVID-19 virus was dangerous, so they decided to be vaccinated. Barriers in this regard are concerns about the side effects of vaccines having the biggest influence on the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccinations, distrusting the government and believing that not vaccinating will be fine. The perception of benefits also has a major influence on the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine, namely feeling that the vaccine reduces the possibility of infection/complications and reduces anxiety. Perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefit, perceived barriers and triggers to move have a relationship with the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine. Information dissemination is needed about the side effects of the vaccine and the perceived benefits after the vaccine. Cooperation with the media is also needed in an effort to increase the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia. Keywords: COVID-19; vaccine; health belief theory.
