Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of implementing the muzara'ah on the level of welfare of farmers, as well as the factors that can cause smallholders to choose to practice muzara'ah in Sirah Pulau Padang District. The data used in this study is primary data obtained directly from the respondents. Data collected using a questionnaire whose feasibility test uses a validity test and reliability test that has been tested beforehand. The number of respondents used was 36 rice cultivators using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis. The research method uses multiple linear regression methods. The results obtained from this study are: 1.) land area and labor have a significant positive effect on the income of sharecroppers. While working hours do not have a significant effect on the income of rice cultivators. However, there is a simultaneous effect of land area, working hours, and labor on the income of farmers in Sirah Pulau Padang District. 2.) The implementation of agricultural cooperation with a muzara'ah carried out by several Sirah Pulau Padang communities occurs because farmers do not have sufficient capital to open a business, besides that because of demands on household economic factors, as well as heredity which has become a tradition in the environment so that encourage the community to enter into a muzara'ah that can make a solution for farmers as a source of income and to increase income.
