Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dosis kombinasi yang tepat antara pupuk organik kotoran ayam dan pupuk anorganik NPK Phonska serta menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap hasil tanaman pepaya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kebun rakyat Desa Sukasari Kecamatan Talang Kelapa, Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan pada bulan November 2010 sampai bulan Februari 2011. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri 5 tingkat pukan ayam yaitu 30 kg per tanaman, pupuk NPK 300 g per tanaman, pukan ayam 30 kg per tanaman + NPK 100 g per tanaman, pukan ayam 25 kg per tanaman + NPK 200 g per tanaman dan pukan ayam 20 kg per tanaman + NPK 300 g per tanaman. Peubah yang diamati dianlaranya meliputi jumlah buah pertanaman, rata-rata berat buah, berat buah pertanaman, panjang buah, lingkar buah, tebal daging buah, total padatan terlarut, dan warna daging buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kombinasi pemupukan organik dan anorganik dengan takaran pupuk kandang ayam 25 kg dan NPK 200 g dapat meningkatkan berat buah per tanaman mencapai 31,38 kg per tanaman atau 62,76 ton per hektar.
