Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about the effect of the application of Student Facilitator And Explaining (SFAE) learning model to the students' concept of understanding on the material of kingdom Plantae class X SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with Noquivalent Control Group Design research design. The sample in this research is class X IPA 2 as experiment class and class X IPA 1 as control class determined by using Simple Random Sampling technique. Methods Data collection is a test, observation, and questionnaire. With the research instrument in the form of multiple choice questions, activity observation sheet of learners and the implementation of learning and questionnaire response of learners to learning by using SFAE model. The results of the study show that SFAE learning model can improve the understanding of learners concept with n-gain result is categorized as moderate. The result data of the learners' response indicate that the learners give positive response to the SFAE learning model. The result of the analysis shows that SFAE learning model has significant effect to the understanding of the students' concept of material kingdom Plantae class X SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya.
