Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang rawan terhadap bencana, seperti gempa sehingga perlu melakukan upaya untuk mencari bahan bangunan yang mampu mengurangi berat bangunan itu sendiri. Lightweight concrete merupakan salah satu alternative solusi terhadap pengaruh bencana gempa di Indonesia. Lightweight concrete memiliki berat jenis lebih kecil dari beton normal yaitu 1.850 kg/m3. Pembuatan lightweight concrete pada penelitian ini dibuat dengan menambahkan foam agent dan polypropylene waved fiber. Foam agent dalam campuran ini memiliki peran pentig karena mampu mengurangi berat jenis dari beton tersebut. Komposisi pembuatan lightweight concrete tersebut terdiri dari Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), air, pasir, polypropylene waved fiber dan foam agent. Pada penelitian ini variasi yang digunakan yaitu variasi panjang serat polypropylene, yaitu 25 mm dan 50 mm. Terdapat beberapa pengujian pada penelitia ini, yaitu pengujian beton segar yang terdiri dari pengujian slump flow dan setting time, pegujian beton keras yang terdiri dari pengujian berat jenis, kuat tekan, kuat Tarik belah dan modulus elastisitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis seberapa besar pengaruh dari variasi panjang polypropylene waved fiber terhadap sifat fisik dan mekanik lightweight concrete.
