Abstract

Beton sangat diminati untuk menjadi material utama suatu infrastuktur dikarenakan mempunyai kekuatan yang baik. Beton sebagai material pendukung memiliki banyak jenis, salah satunya adalah beton ringan atau dikenal dengan lightweight concrete. Dalam pengurangan berat pada beton ringan dapat digunakan foam yang dapat mengurangi volume bahan yang ada pada beton. Selain itu, upaya penambahan agregat expanded polystyrene dapat mengurangi berat pada lightweight concrete. Pada penelitian kali ini ditambahkan bahan tambahan berupa serat polypropylene dengan jenis mesh fiber dengan panjang 19 mm. Dengan penambahan serat ini, pengujian sorptivity dilakukan untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut bagaimana kemampuan beton untuk menyerap air melalui pori. Pada pengujian sorptivity digunakan tiga komposisi campuran, yaitu 1:2,25 ; 1:2,50 ; dan 1 ; 2,75 yang menggunakan rasio perbandingan semen dan agregat. Sorptivity test bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat penyerapan air pada lightweight expanded polystyrene concrete dengan penambahan serat polypropylene mesh fiber hingga mendapatkan nilai yang konstan.
