Abstract

Vertical Coal Mill adalah peralatan untuk menggiling dan menghaluskan batubara hingga berukuran mikron dan menjadikannya dalam bentuk powder digunakan burner pada rotary kiln untuk menghasilkan clinker. VCM memiliki bagian Housing dengan Lining Plate untuk melindungi Housing dari keausan. Housing terdiri dari beberapa segmen dengan ketebalan dan bahan yang yang parah keausannya karena partikel padat pembawa gas yang mengenai permukaan. Material khusus yang tahan terhadap abrasi diperlukan untuk memperluas layanan pengoperasian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat keausan Hardlite dan Everhard C500LE pada plat lining. Karakterisasi sampel meliputi komposisi, struktur mikro, kekerasan, dan uji keausan. Proses erosi yang disebabkan oleh gas yang membawa partikel padatan yang membentur permukaan material terjadi pada Lining Plate. Semakin besar dan semakin dalam jejak keausan yang terbentuk maka semakin tinggi volume material yang terkelupas. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa paduan hard-facing Fe-Cr-C berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai kekerasan suatu material dan ketahanan ausnya. Hasil uji kekerasan menunjukkan rata-rata nilai kekerasan lapisan overlay Hardlite sebesar 703 BHN (N/mm2), hampir dua kali lipat dari Everhard C500LE.
