Abstract

Young women often feel insecure due to the rise of body standards that prioritize physical appearance and a proportional body image, so many young women, especially young women, have poor eating patterns and do various businesses, one of which is by exercising to achieve a body shape according to the desired standards. The existence of a physical distancing policy during the Covid-19 pandemic saw changes in eating patterns and sports activities, this affected a decrease in body movement, so that it would affect body image. Basic correlation descriptive research using cross sectional analysis method, using a simple random sampling approach of 192 samples. The research was conducted to determine the relationship between diet and sports activity on adolescent body image in students in grades X and XI at “SMA N I Unggulan Muara Enim”. The results of the study found a good diet with a positive body image in 108 students (86.4%), and a bad diet with a positive body image in 32 students (47.8%), while a good diet with a negative body image was 17 students ( 13.6%), and a bad diet with a negative body image 35 students (52.2%): As for the results of good sports activities with a positive body image there were 109 students (85.8%), good sports activities with a negative body image only 18 students (14.2%) and bad sports activities with positive body image 31 students (47.7%), while bad sports activities with negative body image 34 students (52.3%). From the results of the data analysis above, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between diet and sports activity on the body image of adolescents at SMA N 1 Unggulan Muara Enim.
