Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of scientific approach towards Science Process Skills of grade X Senior High School 6 Palembang students on kingdom monera topic. This research used Quasi Experimental method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Determination of research sample using Simple Random Samping, which is class X MIPA 4 as the experimental class and class X MIPA 7 as the control class. Methods of data collection was done by test in the form of multiple choice questions. The mean value of the experimental class final test is 80.90 with a gain of 16.90 and for the control class is 74.84 with a gain of 10.84. The highest n-gain value in the experimental class is the communicating aspect, while the lowest is planning the experiment aspect. The highest n-gain in control class is observing aspect, while the lowest interpreting aspect. Based on statistical test using SPSS Test Mann-Whitney U Test, the value of probability (significance) is 0.001 then hypothesis H0 rejected, so the scientific approach has a significant effect on students' science process skills on the kingdom monera topic grade X Senior High School 6 Palembang.
