Abstract

This study aims to determine the capacity of the flour mill type roll mill, tapioca flour yield, power efficiency on the roll mill type flour machine and the grinding quality of tapioca starch on the roll mill flour machine. The research was conducted from August 2022 to October 2022 at CV. Petani Ogan Makmur and Biosystem Laboratory, Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Sriwijaya University. The study used the Factorial Randomized Design (RAKF) method with two treatment factors, rotational speed of 1460 rpm and 1980 rpm and water content of 11%, 11.6% and 11.7%. The study used three parameters, namely flour capacity, flour yield and milling efficiency. The results showed that the rotational speed and water content had a significant effect on the capacity of the flour and the yield of flour. The best results for flouring capacity occurred when using the A2B3 treatment combination, namely 159.39 ± 1.48 kg/hour, while the yield of flour produced from the A2B1 treatment combination was 95.95 ± 0.14%. The maximum efficiency value of the flour machine is 93% -97%. Keywords :Moisture content, Roll mill type flouring machine, Rotary speed (rpm)
