Abstract

The Budi Perkasa Palembang Center provides opportunities to participate in services and teaching in the form of rehabilitation and vocational programs, so that they have the opportunity to work in various places both in companies and in the government. The purpose of this research is to know and understand the role of the Budi Perkasa Center as an effort to develop independence for people with disabilities in Palembang City and the constraints of the Budi Perkasa Center in developing the independence of people with disabilities in Palembang City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data in research was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this study are that the Budi Perkasa Center has a role in developing the independence of persons with disabilities in the city of Palembang which consists of coaching efforts. Palembang. Then there are obstacles experienced by the Budi Perkasa Palembang Center in carrying out its role, namely: the lack of budget funds provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the psychological aspects of persons with disabilities in the Budi Perkasa Palembang Center.
