Abstract
In Palembang City there are close signalized and unsignalized intersection there are Patal Intersection located between MP Mangkunegara street – AKBP Cek Agus street, and Seduduk Putih Intersection located between MP Mangkunegara street – Seduduk Putih street. The problem increase because this intersection located so close the vehicles suffer traffic queue and delay because conflict vehicle movement at Seduduk Putih Intersection whereas the vehicles also must stopped when get red signal at Patal Intersection. This research aims to evaluation performance of both intersection and analize the best solution on both intersection with purposes to increase intersection performance and decrease the traffic queue and also decrease the delay values. Intersection performance analysis in exsist and alternative solution using Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997 models and simulated with microsimulation Vissim 8.00 program, the variable that calculating are traffic queue and delay values. Based on analysis result and simulation before, choise the best solution to optimize both of intersection performance is combination of widening the road and change road geometric, signaled the unsignalized intersection, and using signal coordination between both of intersection. This solution giving the best result intersection performance than other solution based on calculating with MKJI 1997 or PTV Vissim program.
