Abstract

This research is entitled "Political communication strategy of Bintang Muda Indonesia (BMI) as the wing of the Democratic party in the regeneration process in South Sumatra Province". This study aims to determine the political communication strategy of Bintang Muda Indonesia (BMI) as the wing of the Democratic party in the regeneration process in South Sumatra Province. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data obtained from interviews, observations and documentation studies. This study uses the Political Communication Strategy Theory by Anne Gregory (2019) which is divided into 7 (seven) dimensions, namely Problem Analysis, Goal Setting, Target Identification and Segmentation, Determining Messages, Strategies and Tactics, Time and Resource Allocation, Evaluation. Analysis of the problem is done by looking at the cadre guide book about. Setting goals is intended to achieve the goals of BMI, convey new knowledge, increase awareness, and image of BMI. Identification and segmentation of the target of this party wing organization is the youth of South Sumatra. Determining messages by using slang and local languages and political communicators for the chairman of BMI South Sumatra. Strategies and tactics in solving cadre problems, namely the low interest of youth in politics by making politics look interesting and relaxed. The allocation of time and resources in the regeneration process, which is not using a certain time, is scheduled to run. Evaluation is carried out once a year in the 1st plenary meeting which discusses various things including discussing the success of regeneration and unscheduled. Based on the research, it can be concluded that Bintang Muda Indonesia has implemented a political communication strategy even though there are shortcomings in the process of carrying it out but is still able to carry out the regeneration process.
