Abstract

This research is entitled "The Role of Actors in Committing Violence against Women in the Household at the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of South Sumatra Province". The research problem discusses that there is still high violence against women in the household in South Sumatra Province, so the importance of participation in this matter is carried out by actors in the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in South Sumatra Province to tackle violence against women in the household. This research is to understand how the role of actors in dealing with violence against women in the household at the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of South Sumatra Province. The research method used is qualitative through observation and in-depth interviews with 7 informants, analyzed using Katz Khan's role theory. The results showed that there were 3 actors who played an active role in tackling violence against women in the household from the PPPA Office through interviews, including: (1) Mrs. Henny Yulianti, S.IP., M.M as Acting Head of the PPPA Service, (2) Mr. Said , S.Sos., M.Sc as Head of Perli protection of women's rights, and (3) Mr. Amirudin, S.H., M.Sc as the Head of Case Follow-up from the UPTD PPPA Service. The role of the actor is receiving reports, providing assistance and conducting outreach activities Keywords: violence against women, actors, DPPPA SUMSEL.
