Abstract

Sampah plastik adalah sampah yang dihasilkan dari aktivitas manusia yang nantinya akan berakhir ke lingkungan perairan. Sampah plastik saat ini telah menjadi jenis sampah laut yang mendominasi perairan karena sifatnya yang sulit terurai. Mikroplastik merupakan salah satu jenis sampah plastik berbahaya dikarenakan mampu mengkontaminasi lautan bahkan sampai terakumulasi pada biota laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan tipe serta menganalisis kelimpahan mikroplastik di Perairan Ketapang, Lampung Selatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan bulan Juni 2022 di Perairan Ketapang, Lampung Selatan. Identifikasi jenis mikroplastik menggunakan mikroskop Olympus CX23 dan identifikasi tipe polimer mikroplastik menggunakan alat Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Hasil penelitian menemukan empat jenis mikroplastik yaitu fragmen, fiber, film dan pellet adapun tipe polimer adalah polyamide, polypropylene, polyethylene dan polystyrene. Kelimpahan mikroplastik di Perairan Ketapang berkisar 2,07 – 7,28 partikel/liter dengan rata-rata 4,65 partikel/liter.
