Abstract

This study aims to see how the strategy of the #FCTCuntukIndonesia social movement is in encouraging the government to ratify the FCTC (Framework Convention of Tobacco Control). By using the social movement strategy theory from David S. Meyer and data collection techniques of literature study that use literature, books, websites, and documents. The author looks through the strategic concept of a social movement from the “Strategy of Social Movement” from #FCTCuntukIndonesia where this movement moves on the basis of the issue of the absence of accession to the FCTC by the Indonesian government and the increasing death rate of people who use tobacco by smoking. The selected arenas in this movement are in the Online and Offline spaces at the national level. As well as tactics which are divided into three elements, which are shared concern, targets, and real action. where this concern will be built in line with the demands voiced to build common assumptions and thoughts of each actor for the benefit of the people. Second, is the target to be achieved from this movement. The last part is concrete actions used by the FCTC movement for Indonesia such as Pembaharu Muda, FCTC Youth Summit, 365 days adventure of FCTC warriors in 25 cities, and campaigns and education on websites and social media.
