Abstract

This study discusses "The Role of Parents in Online Learning Activities from Home for Students of SDN 17 Tanjung Batu, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra". The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parents in online learning activities from home for students at SDN 17 Tanjung Batu, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. Types and sources of data obtained through primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. This study uses three concepts, namely the Widayati concept which explains the role of parents, the concept from Sobron which explains the implementation of online learning activities, then the concept from Agusriani and Fauziddin which explains parents' strategies to overcome obstacles that arise during online learning activities. The results that the implementation of online learning activities from home for students of SDN 17 Tanjung Batu was carried out in three ways, namely giving assignments through Whatsapp applications, learning through videos and providing material through social media. This research also shows the role of parents in online learning activities, namely their role in providing motivation, accompanying, supervising and facilitators. Then this research provides results regarding parents' strategies in overcoming obstacles that arise during online learning activities from home, namely by building communication with children, providing learning space and facilities, providing rewards for psychological support and more attention and maintaining children's health.
