Abstract

This research is entitled "The Strategy of the Tour Manager in Maintaining the Development of the Cogong Hill Nature Tourism Object in Sukakarya Village, Tengah Lakitan Ulu Terawas District, Musi Rawas Regency. The aim is to know the background of the tour manager in maintaining the development of tourist objects, the inhibiting factors, and the strategy of the tour manager to maintain the development of the Cogong Hill Nature Tourism object in Sukakarya Village. Descriptive qualitative research method with a case study research strategy. Data collection was carried out through the process of observation, interviews, and documentation. The theory used is Pierre Bourdieu's social practice theory regarding habitus, capital, domain/arena, and practice. The results of this study indicate that the tour manager's strategy in maintaining the development of the Cogong Hill Natural Tourism object is: maintaining the authenticity of the tourist object, improving facilities and infrastructure, linking cooperation between tourism actors, disseminating information and promotion through social media, holding events by linking the community, and conducting charm building. Tourism managers carry out various strategies to maintain the development of the Cogong Hill Natural Tourism object so that it continues to exist and progress. This can be successful if tourism actors such as the government, community, and private sector work together, participate and synergize to contribute to the development of tourist objects.
