Abstract

Reciprocating compressors are one of the main heavy equipment that is often found in every company engaged in the oil and gas sector. Reciprocating compressors have an important function in oil and gas companies because they are the main engine in providing high pressure for injecting gas into reservoir wells which aim to lift oil from the earth or commonly called the gaslift process. One of the reciprocating compressors of the company PT. Medco E&P Indonesia which is located in the Rimau district with the JGE-4 AR# 11 model has been in operation for 15 years and has overhauled 5 times, the last being carried out on date 27 March - 12 June 2021. The final results of the study showed that after the overhaul process, the pressure increase given by the compressor at stage 1st increased to 253.8 kPa with an average increase in gas flow of 4.677 m3/s, stage 2nd increased 535 kPa with an average increase in gas flow of 0.468 m3 /s and the 3rd stage increased by 467 kPa with an average increase in gas flow of 0.496 m3/s from the gas flow performance before the overhaul was carried out. And the preventive maintenance policy can be said to be more profitable than repair maintenance which can be seen from the cheaper maintenance costs of Rp. 138,444 every 4 months in operation along with reducing the occurrence of breakdowns due to being carried out on a scheduled basis.
