Abstract

The selling price of FFB received between plasma and independent smallholders will have an impact on the income received. This study aims to 1) explain the mechanism for determining the selling price of oil palm FFB between plasma and independent smallholders in Sido Makmur Village, 2) Analyze the income of oil palm farming between plasma and independent smallholders in Sido Makmur Village, 3) Analyze the contribution of oil palm farming income to total income between plasma and independent smallholders in Sido Makmur Village. This research was conducted in Sido Makmur Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in research is a survey method. The sampling method used is the stratified random sampling method. The number of samples in this study were 40 people consisting of 20 plasma farmers and 20 independent smallholders. The plasma smallholder FFB pricing mechanism is supported by PERMENTAN which is implemented in a price buying meeting conducted by the pricing team at the Provincial Plantation Office and then the price is passed on to the PKS then KUD and accepted by the farmers. Then for independent smallholders the price of FFB is determined by the Palm Oil Mill (PKS) with reference to world CPO prices and then forwarded to marketing agencies and then on to farmers. The amount of oil palm income for plasma smallholders is IDR 16,318,184/ha/year while self-help is IDR 9,146,577/ha/year. The results of the T-test analysis regarding plasma and independent oil palm income in Sido Makmur Village show a sign of value. 0.00 < α (0.05) which means that plasma oil palm income is higher than independent oil palm income. The contribution value of oil palm income to total income among plasma smallholders is 40.62% while self-help is 33.36%. This can be interpreted that the contribution of oil palm income to total income between plasma and independent smallholders is not dominant
