Abstract

The Indonesian Defense Industry, especially the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia through a long-term defense development program, projects the development and strengthening of Defense and Security Equipment Equipment (Alpahankam) to face future challenges through strengthening the independence of the national defense industry. The efforts made by Indonesia are through the promotion and marketing of Alpahankam products both at home and abroad, one of which is through the Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2018. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method in which secondary type data sources are obtained through the results of studies from books, documents and data officially and validly sourced from the Ministry of Incumbents of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of this study explain that efforts to improve Indonesia's defense industry through the agenda of the Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2018 have been well achieved in terms of the three characteristics of defense diplomacy theory, namely, Defense Diplomacy for Defense Industry, Defense Diplomacy for Defense Capabilities, and Defense Diplomacy for Confidence Building Measures. through a series of events that are carried out. On this agenda, several discussion forums, MoU signings, exhibitions, and live demonstrations involving the domestic and foreign defense industries have been carried out.
