Abstract

Mulya Jaya Village has the highest level of productivity among other villages in Lalan District, but there are still many farmers there who are not prosperous, because there are several obstacles that affect the income of rice farmers including capital, prices, weather, pests and diseases, fertilizers. The purpose of this study is (1) Analyzing the amount of income of rice farmers in Mulya Jaya Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, (2) Knowing how much production costs are in carrying out rice farming in Mulya Jaya Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, and (3) Knowing the obstacles faced by farmers in carrying out rice farming activities in Mulya Jaya Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The selection of the location of this study was carried out intentionally (Purposive Sampling). The method used in this study is the survey method. The study was conducted from July to August 2022 with 45 respondents. The sampling method used in the purposive sampling method. The data collected is primary data and secondary data. Data analysis is carried out by tabulation using quantitative and qualitative data, for quantitative data processed with total profit, while qualitative data are presented on field conditions. The results of the study showed that the average total production cost (Total Cost) incurred by farmers was IDR 31,728,444.44 per arable land area, while the average revenue (Gross Return) was IDR 66,406,666.67 per arable land area, resulting in a Net Return of IDR 34,678,222.22 per arable land area. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced by rice rice farmers in Mulya Jaya Village are 45 farmers, 12 farmers or 26.67 percent who have problems in the form of prices, 8 farmers or 17.78 percent who have problems in the form of capital and pests, 6 farmers or 13.33 percent who have problems with diseases and puuk, while 5 farmers or 11.11 percent who have weather problems.
